EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Mr. Patrick K.C. YEUNG, is a founder, an executive director, the chief executive officer and the executive chairman of the Company. He has extensive general and financial management experience covering many different industry sectors in diversified conglomerates in Hong Kong and Asia. Since 1985, he has focused on the areas of banking, merchant banking, securities and listed corporations. Before establishing Asian Capital Group, Mr. Yeung was a director with the Asian merchant banking and stock-broking units of the Standard Chartered Banking Group, where he spent a total of 8 years, from 1985 to 1993.
He then joined the board of Hwa Kay Thai Holdings Limited (now China Solar Energy Holdings Limited, stock code 155, listed on the Main Board of Hong Kong Stock Exchange) as an executive director for 2 years. Afterwards, he was appointed as managing director of Delta Asia Group (Holdings) Limited till 1997, when he returned to Hwa Kay Thai Holdings Limited as its adviser to the board to lead the company’s corporate and financial restructuring. In 1998/1999, Mr. Yeung established Asian Capital (Corporate Finance) Limited.
Mr. Yeung holds a higher diploma in accountancy from Hong Kong Polytechnic (now known as Hong Kong Polytechnic University) awarded in 1979 and a master’s degree in business administration from The Chinese University of Hong Kong awarded in 1989. He is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (now known as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in the U.K., the CPA Australia as well as the Hong Kong Institue of Certified Public Accountants ("HKICPA"). He was a council member of the HKICPA between 1990 to 1997. In 1992, Mr. Yeung chaired the HKICPA’s Third Long Range Plan Working Group which recommended the examination system of the HKICPA to be changed, with admission qualification as student members elevated to graduate level, resulting in a new examination system called “Qualification Programme” being developed. He chaired HKICPA's Examination Board between 1994 and 1997 implementing the new system. Since 2001, he has served as a member of the HKICPA’s disciplinary panel, and from 2005, as a Panel B member of the HKICPA’s disciplinary committee.
Mr. Yeung holds an insolvency specialist qualification from the CPA Australia and was elected President of CPA Australia’s Hong Kong China Division for 2005/06 and remains on its Council. Mr. Yeung is also a representative councillor of CPA Australia. Apart from professional activities, he was appointed by the Hong Kong Government as a member of the Insider Dealing Tribunal, two investment advisory committees and the Advisory Committee on Travel Agents. Mr. Yeung is also a member of The Hong Kong Securities Institute, The Hong Kong Institute of Directors, and Chartered Global Management Accountants.
Mr. Yeung is a member of the advisory boards of three universities in Hong Kong. He is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Accounting and Finance at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and since 2007, he has served as Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Accounting & Finance of the university. From 2004 to 2010, Mr. Yeung was the treasurer of the Council of Lingnan University of Hong Kong. In recognition of Mr. Yeung’s services and achievements, the Lingnan University conferred him with an Honorary Fellow in 2008. Since December 2004, Mr. Yeung has been a member of the university's investment sub-committee, and an Honorary Court Member of the university since 2011. He also served as the President of the Rotary Club of Hong Kong in 2005/6, and as an Assistant Governor in 2007/8 (Area 2) of Rotary International District 3450 comprising Hong Kong, Macao and Mongolia.
